Mother/Daughter Tea

Yesterday, Daddy's Favorite Princess and went to a Girl Scout Mother/Daughter Asian themed tea party.  This is our second year to participate.

You might recall that last year it has an Alice in Wonderland theme and I carved stamps for the different stations at the event.  I was on the committee again this year so I made some Chinese character stamps for the girls to use while decorating crafts.

I was the decorating committee and made the cherry blossom trees, lanterns, and paper fortune cookies in the picture.  It was a major pain to transport the "trees" but I think the place looked great.

It took a long time to set up and tear down.  It is nice that the event is over but I almost don't know what to do with my free time.

I made some quisps with the stamps for the event and I plan to send them off as Hitchhikers.  You may see them in your neck of the woods some time.

The theme for next year will be a Victorian tea.  I wonder what we will come up with for that...

Google Doodle Postal Ring

I'm participating in the Google Doodle postal ring.  I joined right away and started looking for images to carve.  About 99% of the images were too hard for me to carve.  There were a few that I liked but I thought they would work better for a LTC and not a plain stamp.

My stamp is for the Summer Solstice 2013.  This image appeared mainly in South America and we would not have seen it here in the states.  I love swimming at my parents river camp and that is one reason this image caught my attention.

I have already received one stamp from the ring.  There are 12 ppl participating and if I get one postal each week I will have mine back in time to plant it for the summer solstice.  I'm already looking for a good place to plant it :)

HERE is a link to the Google site and you can see my doodle in action!
